RENTAL POLICIES
Rental Period:
Minimum bike rental charge is equivalent to the regular hourly charge. Hourly rate is charged for each full hour, partial hours are prorated to the nearest quarter hour.
Rentals exceeding three hours are charged the flat daily rate.
Rental day is from store opening until store closing.
We do not offer a pick-up or taxi service for customers that venture out further than their capabilities and fitness allow.
Renters are responsible for returning bikes within the agreed rental period.
Late Returns:
Customers are responsible for the safe and timely return of all rented equipment. (Bikes, helmets pedals and locks)
Late returns are subject to a surcharge of the full daily rate in addition to the regular rental rate.
Early Pick Up or Next Day Drop-Off Option:
Rental day is from store opening to store closing. In order to accommodate your travel or riding schedules you may elect for either an early pick up OR next day drop off. Early pick up is defined as fifteen minutes before closing on the day prior to the rental date Next day drop off is defined as returning the bike 15 minutes prior to store opening on the day after the rental date. Arrangements MUST be made at the time of bike pick-up. (Subject to bike availability)
Rental Bike Delivery & One Way Rentals:
We do not offer one way rentals. Bikes must be picked up and returned to our shop. We have special arrangements with Hotel Healdsburg that allow guests to leave their bike(s) at the hotel. We will pick up the bikes and charge your card based on our standard rental charges (multi-day or group rentals only).
We do not offer a delivery service. To ensure maximum enjoyment and safety we require that a member of staff fit you to your bike and explain its correct operation.
Weather Policy:
Sonoma County is suitable for year-round riding. The summer months are usually rain free but it can rain a lot during the winter. However winter daytime temperatures are always above freezing. In rare cases of severe weather, Spoke Folk reserves the right to cancel bike rental reservations at no charge to the customer. We do not equip our bikes with fenders but rental customers may elect to ride during periods of light rain.
Road bikes rentals are subject to a $15 cleaning charge when ridden in wet weather.
ON ROAD FLAT ASSISTANCE POLICY
Hybrid Bike Rentals
All hybrid rentals come with free On-Road Flat Replacement Assistance within a 10 mile radius of the shop. We equip our hybrid bikes with Specialized Armadillo puncture resistant tires, thorn resistant tubes and tire sealant so flats are very rare. Should you experience a flat within a 10 miles of our shop we provide an on-road flat replacement service free of charge. Should you want to venture further than 10 miles then please let us know and we will we provide you with a flat repair kit, tube and CO2. We do not offer free flat assistance beyond a 10 mile radius.

Road Bike Rentals
We expect that road bike renters will know how to repair a flat on the road and do not offer flat assistance, however:
Secteur bikes are equipped with Specialized Armadillo puncture resistant tires so flats are rare. Just in case you do have a flat, we provide each bike with a seat bag containing a spare tube, patch kit, tire levers and CO2.
Tarmac bikesare equipped with lightweight high performance road tires and flats are possible so we provide each bike with a seat bag containing a spare tube, patch kit, tire levers and CO2
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Globe Hybrid and Secteur Road Bikes
A credit card imprint is taken as a deposit at the time of reservation/rental. We do not charge the card until the completion of the rental period at which time full payment is due plus a fee for any damage or excessive wear and tear.
Tarmac Carbon Road Bikes
Regardless of the rental period, Spoke Folk require a $500 security deposit at the time the bike is picked up. Upon return of the bike your card will be credited the security deposit less the accrued rental fee and less an additional fee for any damage or excessive wear and tear to the frame, components or tires.
Prior to taking delivery, the bike will be inspected by both the renter and Spoke Folk and any pre existing chips, dents, scratches noted. Upon return, the bike will again be inspected and the customer will be liable for any new damage.
PEDAL INSTALLATION POLICY
Hybrid Bikes:
These bikes are equipped with flat pedals as standard but we will install other pedal types upon customer request (Subject to availability).
Secteur Road Bike:
We have a limited selection of Shimano SPD MTB, SPD-SL road, Speedplay, LOOK Delta and LOOK KeO pedals but to ensure that your ride is as enjoyable as possible we suggest that you bring your own pedals and shoes.
Tarmac Road Bikes:
We do not install flat pedals or pedals with toe clips (baskets) on Specialized Tarmacs
All pedals for all bikes, whether provided by Spoke Folk or the rental customer must be installed by Spoke Folk Cyclery employees.
TRANSPORTATION AND BIKE RACKS
We have the Hollywood F1 trunk mounted bike rack available for rent. This can be used to transport either the Globe hybrid of Secteur road bikes. Renters are responsible for verifying the vehicle/rack compatibility and for mounting of the rack and loading of the bikes.
Our Tarmacs may only be transported inside your vehicle or on a roof or hitch mounted bike rack equipped individual wheel troughs and clamps. We have a two bike hitch mount rack suitable for both 1 1/4” and 2” receiver.
